Lucan Sarsfields B 0-3
Westmanstown Gaels 6-11
Our U13g group had another run out earlier this afternoon against a big local rival in Lucan Sarsfields, in a game where old school friends were marking in each other, and Monday morning bragging rights were up for grabs.
Lucan started quickly out of the blocks with 2 unanswered points and they looked very strong with several chances going wide within the first quarter. Chloe Plunkett opened the westmanstown account with a very good goal coming from some really good interchanging hand passes, but we were still under pressure from some strong Sarsfields play with another point from their forwards to level the match at 1-0 to 0-3.
From then on, it’s fair to say that westmanstown dominated the game with some tenacious defensive play to some lovely kick passes into the forwards. This combination of tigerish defense and quick forward play led to us scoring and unanswered 5-11, to close out the match in some style.
On days like these it’s hard to choose an outstanding player, when each and every girl gave 100% effort to the team, however, with Chloe Plunketts personal tally of 4-4, it’s hard not to give her considerable contribution a shout. Unbelievable team work from this gang today.... see ye Tuesday lads 💪
